Frances Ha has been on my list for months now and with my sister recommending it to me recently to remedy my growing up blues, I finally decided to become acquainted.
In a nutshell, Frances is an aspiring modern dancer, in her troublesome twenties and like most of us, still in the process, if not, just flailing around and a long way away from getting her act together. The struggle is real as circumstances left her drifting and running (the girl likes to run) from one place to another. Doors closed, friendships dwindled, hope wanes, bad decisions made (her spontaneous trip to Paris is a winner) and yet the spirit still remains. The ending is both heartwarming and comforting – a nice little reminder that things shall fall into place, eventually…and that the only thing that really matters is to keep hustling. And having a ball while you’re at it.
